Watersports Club

Find your sense of adventure and join us for our watersports activities.

Our Activities

Lighthouse Watersports Club provides opportunities for people of any age and ability with the opportunity to enjoy paddlesports at an affordable price. Please see membership details below, however you do not need to be a member to enjoy a paddle with us, just check out the calendar and book your place.

Our year round kayak trips are an ideal introduction to tidal waters on our beautiful local rivers.  SUP trips are also available during spring, summer and autumn when we also provide taster sessions on rivers and at Siblyback Lake as well as heading out to the coast for a sea trip on either a sit on top kayak or SUP.

We also provide introductory group sessions for clubs, schools and work events, please contact us for more information. All our trips are suitable to both beginners and experienced paddlers, offering an ideal opportunity to explore local rivers like the Lynher, Fowey and Tamar.

For new paddlers we recommend attending one of our taster sessions before going out on a river/sea trip.  We usually head out from the following locations with qualified instructors who will make your journey enjoyable and fun: Lostwithiel, Lerryn, Wacker Quay, Halton Quay, Fowey and Saltash.  The rivers are very beautiful all year round, even in the winter we appreciate the thought of heading out onto the water might not appeal quite so much however, the river offers some of its more stunning views on a crisp Winter’s day. Enjoy the fresh Winter breeze during a peaceful meander along the river’s calm waters, reducing stress and improving health.

Whatever your preference, Kayak or SUP, we have a session that will be perfect, just for you!

About Our Club

We are an active group of members who meet regularly to go paddling and develop our skills. We are a friendly group, who welcome both new and experienced paddlers to the club.

The club is affiliated to British Canoeing, the national governing body for paddlesport, and has achieved Club Mark status. The BC Club Mark Award demonstrates a high level of commitment to young people, along with the provision of safe, high quality activities and coaching programmes.

In the spring, summer and autumn months from April to October, our monthly paddle sessions take place on an evening at Siblyback Lake. These provide the opportunity for an enjoyable paddle, along with specific training objectives, and are led by our Instructor and Leaders.

All year round we are out on the water most weekends at various locations on local rivers and sometimes the sea, these trips are half price for our members which is a massive saving.  We also head out on 2 longer trips (tours) during the year with our members which includes a stop off for food.  All equipment is provided.

“What an awesome experience! I booked my 14 year old son onto a SUP session with his friend, and I ended up going in with them - these guys are so accommodating, great at what they do and really have fun with it. We all had a fabulous time on the river at Lerryn! I can’t recommend them highly enough!!”
